Just a quick one to say thanks to everyone who came down to support us tonight, and extra to those who professed to like what they heard! You are all stars!

If you're interested we're going to be recording 3 demo tracks over the next few weeks, which will be available via our (presently defunced) website and at our next gig.

More details will follow here when I have them. Thanks again for the support.

Moblog your life!

Just a quick one to let y'all know that me and one of my bands, Nothing Gained (no website right now due to slight wranglings with expired hosting *ahem*), will be playing a gig at the Bull and Gate, Kentish Town on Tuesday 16th August. I'm told we'll be on stage sometime after 8pm, but the pub part of the venue is open all day, and doors to the venue itself open at 7pm so feel free to come whenever you like (we'll be there soundchecking and the like from 5:30pm or so).

We play our own material, falling broadly into what could be described as modern metal, and this is my first gig as vocalist for the band. T'would be great if you could come down. :) I'll post a flyer here once we have it finalised which should get you a discount on the door. I'll even buy you a brew to offset the ticket cost. :) Would be great to see you there.

My bad: I was unable to complete my CBT today due too my head being to large. The training centre did not have a helm which would fit over my noggin...

My good: I have been accepted onto the MSc course I applied for!! Rawk!!

People are seeing Queen this evening in the park. I am not, but I did have lunch with some of them (the seeers, not Queen)

Some of you may already know that my band, Dead Karma, will be playing some cheesy metal covers next Tuesday, the 15th March. Details are:

WHERE: Imperial College Union, South Kensington. [link]
WHEN: ~20:30, Tues 15th March 2005.
WHY: Because there'll be lots of cheap London Pride on the go, and seeing ones friends make an arse of themselves is entertaining.

That is all.

Just found this, about 2 minutes walk from my office. I feel this could be bad for my wallet but good for my soul.

In other news, back from the US, jet lag waning. Saw Duran Duran last night, cheesetastic 80s shenanigans of the highest order. They rock quite a lot live, it would seem they have pretensions of being rock musicians. :)

Hmm, I'm most disappointed that LJ doesn't seem to have cheesetastic in its spell check dictionary. I must mail support...

Wow, and what a gig it was. Hadn't seen OMS for a while, and was looking forward to it. It would be fair to say that today, which battered and bruised, I was not disappointed.

Supporting was Fony (dunno much about them, Google will no doubt reveal all). Fun bunch of lads, great musicians, had wonderful stage presence and were sadly let down by a selection of mediocre nu-metal tracks. The latter couple of songs of the set were most refreshing, and I was actually very impressed with - more of that in the future and you all might even hear of these boys.

Without a doubt there was one band and one band only that the croud were here to see. I'm still suprised that OMS were playing such a small venue, the last time I'd seen them I believe it was at the LA2 (now Mean Fildler) which has at least 4 times the capacity. There have been some record company shenanegans involved (lost one, gained another) and this tour I think is a smaller tour to promote their upcoming EP to dedicated fans. I'm assuming a bigger tour will follow soon. (Go on, you know you want to!!!)

The gig was an out and out success. The band played as if their lives depended on it, the pit moshed likewise - one of the most amicable pits I've ever seen, not once did anyone stay down for more then a couple of seconds before being helped up and flung back into the fray (myself included on countless occasions). A long set, with a wide mix of material off of Available in All Colours and Buy Now... Saved Later as well as some new material, which I hope will be on the upcoming EP - more relaxed (this is a comparetive thing mind you) and dynamic then their earlier works the future is indeed looking rosie. I only hope this record company doesn't do the dirty on them.
